Oops wrote about this sign in the next picture.

We had a nice and relaxing day today. During the past week and half, as of today, we have finished all the things to see while here. (Outdoor things anyhow).

They are calling for rain and cooler weather to start tonight. We are ready to have a couple days of down time and really relax. Been a busy time with trying to get everything done.

San Diego is a beautiful place and we have enjoyed our stay here.

Had an interesting time on our way back to trailer this afternoon. There is actually two different way to get to the trailer. But the one we choose was not the best way today.

Came upon an area that they were stopping ALL cars. It was two lane road (paved) at a four corner. No one could go straight through. The person directing traffic was a Border Patrol Person (he said bad accident ahead). After we turned one direction, had Alice off (GPS) we knew where we were going (until they turned us). Talked to a local person out by the road. He said this is probably another case where illegals are trying to outrun the Border Patrol and that causes an accident. There would be 1hr to 1-1/2 hr delay

So we turned on "Alice" and went a different way (local said we could get there that way). Well, after a couple of miles we went into un-paved road bumpy. Really in the back country. Only took 25 minutes to get to camp.

This is the second time we have seen (or heard) of Border Patrol activities. The other time there was numerous Patrol and police cars off the road in a lane. Yes we aren't far from Mexico here.

This building is in the "Old Town" part of San Diego. This is the first American Settlement of California, date back to 1846.

The outside of the San Diego Mormon Battalion Historic Site.

We never realized why the Mormon's first went west. The Government asked Brigham Young if his men would go west to help fight the Mexican-American War. They were the only religious unit of the United State military in the history.

It was very interesting.

These two young ladies were part of the audience. They came up to show how the women dressed that went on the westward trip.

Every area we went into, from room to room, had a different way to present the program. This was a picture that turned into a screen.

To us these seemed good size waves considering we didn't have any wind. We are expecting rain to come into shore tomorrow with wind.

This and the next picture are taken of the Ocean Beach Pier. The pier is 1,971 ft long, with the tee to the south 360 feet and 193 feet to the north. It was huge. It was a nice walk and talked to a couple of fisherman.

Standing out on the "Tee" of the pier.

There was two different guys trying to "catch a wave". We were actually able to watch them surf.

Last night Sheri notified us that a guy she works for, that knows us, suggested if we were in San Diego a eating time to check out a restaurant he likes. So today we stopped there for a mid-day meal. A nice Irish Pub in what is called the Gaslamp District. Really enjoyed the Irish music. We had one of their Signature Meals -- Fish & Chips. Very good. Nice recommendation Wes. Thank you.

This is a picture of the inside of the Irish Pub, The Field. Really nice inside.
