Monday, March 5, 2012 -- We are kicking back and relaxing today. After the baseball game on Saturday and the race on Sunday it is a good idea to relax today.

Sending Good Luck to TJ for Regional diving tomorrow afternoon/night at Fenton. This is only his second year in diving at the school and he has made it into regional. Good luck and we are proud of you.
Sunday, March 4, 2012 (Posted 3/5/12) -- Today's pictures are the reason we came to Phoenix at this time of our trip. Was very surprised when Lions, Ndamukong Suh, was the Grand Marshall at the race.

Had a great day at NASCAR races. We have never been to any other track but Michigan's. Of course this trip was without our daughters. Us four go to the MIS races in June. I am not sure how many years we have gone to the races in Michigan, but the girls have always gone with us. Now I don't want any of you to misunderstand, they would have come here, they even suggested that they could buy their airline tickets with OUR CHECKBOOK. LOL I don't think so girls.

So the following pictures are shots I took before and during the race. It was about 81 degrees with lots of sunscreen and even a white Chevy T-shirt we got there over our legs at times. Really didn't want to get fried to a crisp.

Before the race started.

This is a zoomed picture of the people sitting on the mountain for the race.

This is at the end of the track between turn 3 & 4. Such a neat place to watch the race, under their portable "tents or awnings".

This is a picture before the race started. See the PIR on the finish line booth at the top. Well that stands for Phoenix International Raceway. I was writing something the other day, using PIS -- Phoenix International Speedway. (Michigan's is MIS). Bob said I don't think they want their abbreviation to be PIS. Yup, he is right "PIR"

Before the race started.

Here I got 48 - Jimmy Johnson & 14 Tony Stewart in this picture. I really tired to get 24 Jeff Gordon for Sheri, and 88 Dale Jr for Laura. It just didn't work. Bob's driver is 29 Kevin Harvick and he did really good coming in 2nd. Ran out of gas the last lap.

It is so very hard to get the car you want in the digital camera picture.

This is during the 95th lap and you can see on the sign that "my driver, Jimmy Johnson" is in 1st. He was in first for quite awhile, didn't win -- but came in 4th.
