This is the Coronado Bridge, going from San Diego to Coronado Island. At it's highest point it is 252 feet above the water. Beautiful bridge. This bridge had to be built that high in order to get the ships in and out fo San Diego ports. The Navy was against building this bridge. (I read they were against it because if this bridge was bombed then the navy ships would be all trapped in the port at San Diego. So they made the bridge so it would float.
As we were going on the bridge the driver of the trolley made the comment --- We haven't talked about the earthquakes that can happen in San Diego. I don't think I wanted to hear that.
